This brief FAQ has been designed to answer some basic questions about tourism and Versailles.
II - Visiting the Chateau de Versailles (Versailles Castle)
When Is The Chateau Open ?
The Chateau is open every day, with the exception of Mondays and certain holidays:
May through September 09h00-18h30
October through April 09h00-17h30
Please note that the last admission is thirty (30) minutes before closing time.
You should plan accordingly.


When Is The Chateau Closed ?
The Chateau is closed on Mondays and on certain holidays.
The chateau is completely closed on May 1st, December 25th, and January 1st).
Check the Chateau de Versailles official website for partial or total closings on French legal holidays (such as Ascension Thursday, Monday after Pentecost, V-E Day, Bastille Day, All Saints' Day,)


How Much Does It Cost To Enter The Chateau ?
Check on the official website at Chateau de Versailles.
You should be aware that the other sights in and around the Chateau complex (the Grand
Trianon, the Petit Trianon, the Gardens, the Park, the Coach Museum, the Jeu de
Paume, the Vegetable Garden, and the Arboretum) are NOT included in the Chateau ticket price. Prices for these venues vary. There are also rates for group tours and guided tours. For exact rates, please consult an up to date guidebook or visit the Chateau de Versailles website.
